Since our community keeps growing day by day, and we’ve collected a few malcontents along the way, I thought I would lay down some rules of thumb for comment posting:
- No mean allowed. Yup, I’m actually going to discriminate against the meanies in the online community. If you’re bashing another commenter, me or the blog itself… you shall be spammed. No exceptions. If you desire to be a nasty person, please go do it elsewhere.
- I welcome all points of view and actually really enjoy a good debate, discussion or exchange of ideas. Be respectful and thoughtful with any point of view and to the spam box you shall NOT go.
- I try to respond to comments, so if you leave one… please check back in to catch the discussion you generated. *grin*
- I understand that commenting is a great way to cross-pollinate blogs and communities, so I welcome a link to your own site. I only ask that you comment something relevant to the discussion along with your link so I’ll know you aren’t some spam-bot.
- My policy is to try to be fair and even handed when it comes to the sexes. If you read a post and I’ve used more he than she, you can fairly safely assume that for the sake of readability I limited the (s)hes and hers/his for every example. Sometimes I’ll specify the post for one sex or the other, but I’m usually pretty clear about that. So please know that both men and women are supported on this forum and male or female bashing in a comment is likely to send your comment to the spam box. After all… who really needs more of that in this world?
Thanks for playing by the rules and hopefully they don’t feel too constricting for my rule flaunting brethren!
Kelli
